| COMMON SNOOK (Centropomus undecimalis) Averages up to 15 lbs. can reach 50 lbs. Size and bag limit, 1 fish between 28 and 32 inches. Table quality - good, particularly smaller fish. Best months - June through October. Check on seasonal dates. Member of the snook family. |

| These species are not always present in the surf but can be common during certain times of the year. Many follow baitfish or spawning migrations that bring them into the surf zone. |
| SPANISH MACKEREL (Scomberomorus maculatus) Averages up to 4 lbs. can reach 10 lbs. Size and bag limit, 12 inches to the fork, 15 fish per day. Table quality - good, mild oily fillets. Best months - June through November Member of the mackerel family. |


| REDFISH (Sciaenops ocellatus) Averages up to 10 lbs, can reach 90 lbs. Size and bag limit, one fish between 18 and 27 inches. Table quality - very good sweet fillets. Best months - August through November. Member of the croaker family. |

| BLUEFISH (Pomatomus saltatrix) Averages up to 3 lbs, can reach 20 lbs. Size and bag limit, 12 inches to the fork, 10 fish per day. Table quality - small fish are good when prepared fresh, mild oily fillets. Best months, October through December and March and April. |
| GAFFTOPSAIL CATFISH (Bagre marinus) Averages up to 6 lbs, can reach 20 lbs. Unregulated by Game and Fish. Table quality - decent, about the same as freshwater catfish. Big ones can be tough and stringy. Best months - winter and spring. |
| SOUTHERN FLOUNDER (Paralichthys lethostigma) Averages up to 5 lbs, can reach 20 lbs. Size and bag limit - 12 inches, 10 fish per day. Table quality - excellent - mild white fillets. Best months - August through October, March through May. Member of the flounder family. |


| GULF FLOUNDER (Paralichthys albigutta) Averages up to 1 lb., can reach 5 lbs. Size and bag limit - 12 inches, 10 fish per day. Table quality - excellent - mild white fillets. Best months - August through October, March through May. Member of the flounder family. |

| STRIPED MULLET (Mugil cephalus) Averages to 2 lbs. can reach 10 lbs. Bag limit - 50 per day, bait or food fish. Table quality - decent, somewhat oily fish. Best months - August through November. Member of the mullet family. |
| TARPON (Megalops atlanticus) Averages up to 80 lbs, can reach 270 lbs. Special $50 tarpon tag required to keep. Table quality - horrible. Best months - June through October. Member of the Megalopidae family. |


| JEWFISH or GOLIATH GROUPER (Epinephelus itajara) Averages up to 200 lbs, can reach 800 lbs. Completely protected by law, no possession. Best months - June through November. Rare to catch in the surf thought they are common along rock lines. Member of the grouper family. |

| LADYFISH (Elops saurus) Averages to 3 pounds, can reach 6 lbs. Unregulated by Fish and Game. Table quality - horrible. Best months - September through November. |
| NURSE SHARK (Ginglymostoma cirratum) Averages to 50 lbs. can grow to 14 feet and 400 lbs. Bag Limit - one shark per person, per day. Table quality - considered the best of all the sharks, meat is much milder than most. Best months - June through October |
